Falcons Earn Quartet Of Top Five Finishes At Wolverine Invitational

Ann Arbor, Mich. – After six weeks off of competition, the Bowling Green State University track & field team returned to action Saturday at Michigan's Wolverine Invitational. Bowling Green picked up nine top-10 finishes and four in the top five.

THE JUMPS
- Stacey Wolverton finished fourth in the high jump, with a season-best mark of 5-feet-3 (1.60m).
- Freshman Ayanna Burrell had top 10 finishes in both the triple jump and the long jump. She placed sixth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump.
THE THROWS
- Freshman Ebonie Whitted, in her first collegiate competition, threw the shot put 46-feet-2.5 (14.08m) and placed fifth overall.
- Daija Young came up one inch shy of her personal best in the shot put at 41-10.5 (12.76m).
- In the weight throw, Kaila Butler had a season-best distance of 61-11.75 (18.89m) and ended fifth.
- Allie Farmer also had a season-best distance in the weight throw at 56-3.75 (17.16m).
THE SPRINTS
- Ryen Draper set a new personal best time in the 200 at 24.91 seconds. That time was good for sixth place.
- Freshman Jazzlyn Gaiters also posted a sixth-place finish, running the 400 in 59.12 seconds.
- The 1600 relay team of Gaiters, Savannah Nevels, Mis'cha Sellers and Draper recorded a season-best time of 3:55.54. The team placed fourth overall.
