Aliyah Gustafson Named MAC Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson has been named the Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her efforts over the weekend in a dual meet against Toledo. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average, pursuing her master's degree in Human Movement and Sport Leisure Studies.
Gustafson won two events in the BGSU/Toledo Dual meet, posting the top marks in the MAC in each event this year. In the shot put, Gustafson tossed the second-best throw in program history, moving to seventh in the country with a distance of 56-feet-2 (17.12m). In the weight throw, Gustafson threw the top distance in the MAC this year at 64-7.25 (19.69m).
BGSU track and field will be back in action Saturday at Eastern Michigan's Can Am Classic.
