GUSTAFSON CONTINUES SETTING NEW MARKS
- Aliyah Gustafson broke her own school record in the shot put by three inches, throwing 57-feet-5 (17.50m), virtually assuring herself of a return trip to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Entering the weekend, only two competitors had thrown further than that distance nationally.
- A year ago, she was the No. 8 seed of 16 competitors with a top throw of 57-2. She has competed in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on two occasions.
- Gustafson continues to improve each time she competes, opening the season with a distance of 50-6.25 and then throwing 56-2 a week ago against Toledo.
- In the weight throw, Gustafson threw a season-best 64-9.75 (19.75m). She entered the weekend ranked No. 1 in the MAC with a distance of 64-7.25 (19.69m).

- Freshman Ebonie Whitted threw the shot put 48-0 (14.63m) to surpass her previous season and collegiate best mark of 46-2.5 (15.40). That distance puts her comfortably among the top 10 in the conference.
- While Kaila Butler followed Gustafson in the weight throw with a distance of 61-11.5 (18.88m), Daija Young set a new personal best at 57-0.75 (17.39m). That distance is 2 1/2 feet further than her previous PR.
