Balanced Lineup Leads BGSU On Day One In Akron

AKRON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team completed two rounds at the MAC Fall Preview in Akron on Monday (Oct. 7). The tournament is being held at Silver Lake Country Club, which is the sight of the 2020 MAC Championships.
Bowling Green sits in sixth place at the nine-team event. The Falcons progressed throughout the day, improving on their first-round score over the final 18 holes by four strokes. BGSU registered a team score of 642.
Akron (627) and Eastern Michigan (630) are leading the pack heading into the final round of play tomorrow.
A trio of Falcons – Kayla Davis, Nichole Cox and Jessica Madry – sit within the top 25 on the individual leaderboard after a strong showing over 36 holes. All three are within five strokes or less off a position in the top eight. Davis leads the group, having posted a 36-hole score of 159. Davis' round-one 78 was Bowling Green's lowest score on the day.
Kelsey Sager and Cox each carded a 79 in the second round. The pair of rounds tied for BGSU's second-lowest over the first 36 holes. Erin Korn improved her second round score by seven strokes. Dani Austinson and Aly Kovach contributed to the Falcon lineup, each competing in their third event of the fall.
