>>VERSUS RIT/OSU/WMU
- All-time the Bowling Green Falcons have never lost to the RIT Tigers, holding an all-time record of 4-0-1. The most recent meeting on ice between Bowling Green State University and the Rochester Institute of Technology was also at the Huntington Center during the 2016-17 season. Bowling Green would take the contest by a final score of 3-0. Current BGSU alternate captain Frederic Letourneau scored the Falcons' third goal in the game. The BGSU Hockey program has a unique connection to the RIT Hockey program in that the Tigers are coached by Bowling Green alumnus and former team captain Wayne Wilson. He served as one of two captains during the 1984 national championship run. Wilson's Associate Head Coach Brian Hills also played alongside him at Bowling Green graduating in 1983.
- The other two potential opponents for Bowling Green in the 2019 Ice Breaker Tournament are a pair of old rivals from the CCHA. The Falcons won a series a year ago with the Ohio State Buckeyes taking the first game in Columbus 8-2, with the second game in BG ending in a 2-2 tie. This is the only potential regular season meeting between the Falcons and Buckeyes for the 2019-20 season.
- Bowling Green also played a home-and-home series with Western Michigan last season sweeping the series by final scores of 6-2 and 4-1. BGSU will play another home-and-home series with the Broncos this season on October 18-19. Depending on how the tournament transpires, BGSU could potentially play Western Michigan three straight times.
Â
- Bowling Green played in the Ice Breaker in 2001, while Ohio State has played in the tournament three times, most recently in 2016. This will mark both RIT's and Western Michigan's first appearance. The BGSU Hockey program is no stranger to regular season tournaments having competed in at least one in the majority of seasons in their 50 year history.
- Most recently Bowling Green won the Great Lakes Invitational in Detroit during the 2018-19 season besting Michigan and Michigan Tech in the process. Prior to 2018-19, BGSU competed in the Three Rivers Classic in Pittsburgh, PA falling to Boston College and defeating Robert Morris.
 >>LAST TIME OUT
- The Bowling Green Falcons began their 2019-20 campaign this past weekend with a 7-4 victory over the Redhawks of Miami University. Bowling Green would outshoot Miami 42 to 19 in the win.
- Head Coach Ty Eigner recorded his first win at the helm of the Orange and Brown. Junior Cameron Wright tallied four goals netting his first career hat trick in the process.
- The first period remained scoreless as both teams settled in. Miami would strike first in the contest before the Falcons soared back to answer with two goals from Wright. Connor Ford and Evan Dougherty found the back of the net prior to Miami scoring another. Cameron Wright completed his hat trick before two more goals from Miami. Wright tallied one more to keep the foot on the gas before Alec Rauhauser would add an empty netter.
- Bowling Green will host Miami on December 30th for the second game of this home-and-home season series.
 >>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- After just one game into this new season, Bowling Green is tied for first place nationally in team offense with a goals-per-game average of 7.0. They are tied for fifth in power play scoring coming into the Ice Breaker this weekend.
- Cameron Wright tallied his first career hat trick on the way to four goals tallied in the Bowling Green's win over Miami. It was his first time scoring multiple goals in game for BGSU. Just one game into the season, he is tied for first nationally in total goals scored. He is also the first Falcon to net four goals in a game since James Unger scored four times in a 7-5 loss at Nebraska-Omaha on March 3, 2007.
- Wright's four goals marked the second year in a row that Bowling Green tallied a hat trick in the season opener, as former captain Stephen Baylis would score one a year ago in an 8-2 victory against Mercyhurst.
- Goaltender Eric Dop recorded his first career point picking up an assist on Cameron Wright's second goal of the game. Sophomore Evan Dougherty tallied the first goal of his college career for the Falcons extending BG's initial lead to 4-1. Freshman T.J Lloyd assisted Dougherty earning his first career point as well. In total three Falcons earned their way on to the score sheet for the first time.
 >>NATIONALLY RANKED
- The Bowling Green Falcons enter this Ice Breaker Tournament voted No. 17 in the USCHO.com poll for the second week in a row.
- The Falcons are joined by two other ranked teams in Toledo this weekend in No. 12 Ohio State and No. 14 Western Michigan.
