Daisy Platts Named MAC Swimmer Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Freshman Daisy Platts of Bowling Green State University's swimming and diving team was named MAC Swimmer of the Week, as announced Wednesday (Feb. 13) afternoon.
Platts was part of a first place finish in six events over the past weekend, competing for the Falcons in a dual meet against Toledo. Platts' day was highlighted by breaking the pool record in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 1:58.02, just one second shy of the program record.
Platts also placed first in the 400 Medley Relay (3:48.72), 100 Backstroke (55.53), 200 Freestyle (1:54.19), 200 Medley Relay (1:44.81), and the 200 Individual Medley (2:07.84) en route to defeating the Rockets 223-129. The win served as the Falcons sixth straight against MAC rival, Toledo.
This is the second time this year Platts has been recognized. She was named Co-Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday, Nov. 14 following wins against Michigan State and Youngstown State.
The meet concluded the Falcons' regular season, ending with an 8-5 record, including a 2-3 standing within the MAC. The team will resume competition at the MAC Championships in Akron, taking place Wednesday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 2.
