
Nevels’ Big Day Sparks Falcons In Final Regular Season Meet

Columbus, Ohio – Sophomore sprinter Savannah Nevels set season bests in the 60 and the 200 to lead the Bowling Green State University track and field team at the Buckeye Tune Up Friday, hosted by Ohio State. It was the team's final meet before the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships next week.

NEVELS COMES UP CLUTCH
- Savannah Nevels entered the weekend needing to record strong times in the 60 and the 200 to position herself for the Mid-American Conference Championships and she did just that.
- Nevels entered the meet with a season-best time of 7.80 seconds in the 60 and ranked 28th in the MAC. She posted a time of 7.75 seconds in the prelims and then improved to 7.70 in the finals. That time places her in the top dozen of the conference.
- Nevels also ran a season-best time of 25.07 seconds in the 200 to earn first place in the event.
OTHER STRONG PERFORMANCES
- Chasatea Brown won the 400 with a time of 57.36 seconds. With conversion, she will position herself well for the MAC Championships.
- Claire Reynolds set a new personal best time in the 3000 of 11:08.88. That is almost 20 seconds faster than her previous best in the event.
- Brianna Richard finished third in both the long jump and the triple jump.

- Bowling Green will compete at the MAC Championships Feb. 22-23, hosted by Kent State.
