NEED-TO-KNOW INFORMATION
(These three fascinating facts are provided on a need-to-know basis)

>> Two of BGSU's three best-shooting games of the year have come in the last two contests. The Falcons shot a season-best 56.8% from the field in last Wednesday's win over Buffalo, then shot an even 50% from the floor at Kent State on Saturday.

CLOSE CALLS
As mentioned just a few paragraphs ago, 12 of BGSU's 23 games this season have been decided by seven points or fewer.
In fact, 10 of BGSU's first 12 MAC games have been within three points with under 12 minutes remaining. Nine of those 12 contests were three-point games at some point in the fourth quarter.
And, no fewer than seven of the 12 MAC matchups – including each of the last three games – have been tied or a one-possession game in the final minute.
BRING IT!
The Falcons are two-thirds of the way through the MAC schedule. BGSU's six remaining regular-season games include one each against the teams currently* ranked first, second, third, fourth, fifth and eighth in the overall league standings.
Wednesday's CMU game marks the Falcons' second-straight home game against a team that advanced to the Round of 16 in last season's NCAA Championships. BG downed Buffalo, 78-72, last Wednesday night at the Stroh. The 2017-18 UB and Central Michigan clubs joined the 2006-07 Falcons as the only "Sweet Sixteen" teams in MAC history.
BGSU's remaining opponents have a combined MAC record of 49-24. All six games are against teams with winning overall records – all are 14-9 or better – and only one game comes against a club with a MAC record under .500.

"YOU MISS 100% OF THE SHOTS YOU DON'T TAKE" --WAYNE GRETZKYÂ --MICHAEL SCOTT
Freshman Kadie Hempfling leads the Falcons in total rebounds and assists, but has not shot the ball as often as the other BG starters. Hempfling has attempted fewer than five shots, including just 1.5 three-point tries, per game this season. Over the last week and a half, though, she has been deadly from the arc.
The Ottawa, Ohio, native made a total of seven triples over her first 20 collegiate contests, and never hit more than one trey in a game. In the last three games, however, Hempfling has gone 6-for-8 (75.0%) from long distance. She was 2-for-4 from downtown against Miami, and was a perfect 2-of-2 from the arc vs. both Buffalo and Kent State.
TAKE SOME – THEY'RE FREE
The Falcons are currently ranked 19th in the nation in free-throw percentage. Over the last three games, BG has gotten to the line with increased frequency. After attempting more than 20 free throws just once in the first 20 games, the Falcons have shot at least 22 times from the stripe in each of the last three contests.
BG went 19-of-22 at the line vs. Miami, then hit 20 free throws in 26 tries in the win over Buffalo. On Saturday, the Falcons were 20-of-22, including 14-for-15 in the fourth quarter alone, against Kent State.
After making 10.5 free throws per contest over the season's first 20 games, the Falcons have made 19.7 tosses per game over the last three games, shooting 84.3% from the line in that time.
MCTHRILLEN: MORGAN'S ON PACE TO SHATTER SEVERAL THREE-POINT MARKS
Freshman Morgan McMillen is ranked among the national leaders in multiple three-point field-goal related categories. And, she has a chance to be ranked atop several school lists by season's end.
McMillen has made 75 long-range shots this year to date, tying her for the fifth-highest single-season total in BGSU history. McMillen is just four successful triples away from moving into second on that chart, and she is 17 three-pointers away from matching the school record of 92, set by Lauren Prochaska in 2009-10.
McMillen has attempted 199 long-range shots this season, tied for the third-highest total in school history and just 10 shy of the school single-season record of 209. That mark is currently held by Tracy Pontius (2010-11).

SEE THE THREE, BE THE THREE
The Falcons are currently ranked 13th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game, having hit 9.3 per contest.
And, BGSU is 28th in the land in total three-pointers made (215), 34th in triples attempted (607) and 44th in long-range accuracy (35.4%).
BGSU has made at least three triples in each of the last 66 games.
Individually, freshman Morgan McMillen is 13th in the country in three-pointers made per game (3.26), and she is 23rd nationally in total three-pointers made (75) and 24th in long-range shots attempted (199). McMillen has made at least four treys in a game 13 times this year.
Junior Andrea Cecil is 21st in the entire nation – and first in the MAC – in three-point percentage, having made 43.2 percent of her long-range tries.
THE FALCONS: A QUICK OVERVIEW
BGSU enters the CMU game with a record of 8-15, and the Falcons are 1-11 in MAC play. BG topped Buffalo – like Central an NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" team a year ago – by a 78-72 score last Wednesday night (Feb. 13), before dropping a narrow 77-73 decision at Kent State three days later.
Seven of BGSU's 11 conference losses have come by seven points or fewer. Ten of the 12 MAC games have been within three points with under 12 minutes remaining. Nine of those 12 contests were three-point games at some point in the fourth quarter, and no fewer than seven – including each of the last three – were tied or a one-possession game in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
The Falcons are 6-5 at home, 2-9 on the road and 0-1 in neutral-site contests.
Head coach Robyn Fralick is in her first season on the BGSU bench. Her staff includes associate head coach Kim Cameron, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Karmen Graham, assistant coach Joel Whymer, director of operations Monique Rosati and video coordinator Amanda Cutcher.
Four Falcons are scoring in double digits this season. Junior Andrea Cecil leads the way with 15.3 points per contest, and is second on the team with 5.3 rebounds per game. Cecil has had 19 or more points 10 times this year, including an epic 33-point, 10-rebound outing at Eastern Michigan several weeks ago. The junior is shooting 43.2% from three-point land, good for 21st in the country. And, Cecil is 25th in the nation in free-throw percentage (87.5%).
Freshman Morgan McMillen is scoring 14.3 ppg, and has scored in double digits in 17 of her first 23 career outings. McMillen tied the school single-game record with eight triples vs. Marshall (in her second collegiate game). She is ranked 13th in the nation in three-pointers made per game, and has a total of 75 on the year.
Senior Sydney Lambert is averaging 11.7 ppg, along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. She is third on the team in boards and three-pointers made (38).
Lambert started every game in her BGSU career prior to missing the Falcons' game at Northern Illinois on Feb. 6. The point guard did not travel to DeKalb due to injury, but she returned to the lineup and played all 40 minutes vs. Miami last weekend, then played 36 minutes in the win over UB and 33 at KSU. Lambert leads the MAC and is 15th in the nation in minutes per game (37.16).
Sophomore Angela Perry has 11.3 ppg and is shooting 53.0% from the floor. Perry, who has seen action in 19 games, has nearly tripled her point total for all of last season. She has three 20-point games this year to date.
Freshman Kadie Hempfling and sophomore Madisen Parker have 5.6 and 5.3 ppg, respectively. Hempfling averages a BG-best 8.4 rebounds per game, and she has dished out 4.2 assists per game, putting her in a virtual tie for the team lead.
Hempfling has had nine double-digit rebounding totals, including a 16-rebound contest at EMU. In that game, she had 10 offensive boards, becoming only the third Falcon since 1995 to reach that total.
Parker has gone 30-of-80 (37.5%) from three-point land this year, including a perfect 3-for-3 on three occasions this season. She made all three of her long-range attempts en route to a career-high 13 points vs. Miami, then was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line vs. Buffalo, scoring 12 points vs. the Bulls.
In MAC games only, four Falcons are scoring in double figures. Cecil leads the team with 12.0 ppg, while Lambert has 12.4 ppg, McMillen 11.8 and Perry 10.1. Senior Maddie Cole has 5.8 ppg in conference contests, and is shooting 56.6% (30-of-53) from the floor in the 12 games. Hempfling has 5.0 ppg and team-best averages of 7.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists, while Parker has 4.9 ppg.
A total of 10 different Falcons have made at least one start this season. Cecil is the only player to have started all 23 games.
THREE-MARKABLE
Through the years, BGSU rosters typically have been stocked with players who can score from three-point range. As a team, BG has hit at least four triples in 22 of 23 games this season, and the Falcons have made at least eight treys in 15 contests, including a school record-tying 16 vs. Marshall, 14 vs. Valpo and 13 on four other occasions.
In fact, BG has knocked down four or more three-pointers in 136 of the last 145 games, dating to late in the 2013-14 season.
BGSU will be looking to extend a mucho-impressive streak in the CMU clash. The Falcons have hit at least one three-pointer in each of the last 452 games. BG has not been held without a triple in over 14 years – since Feb. 12, 2005, at Akron, when the Falcons won, 61-52, despite going 0-of-13 from long distance.
EYASSES (IT'S THE PLURAL OF EYAS) (LOOK IT UP)
It's a youthful group that has taken the floor for the Falcons this season. A total of six players have seen action in at least 22 of BGSU's 23 games this year to date. That sextet includes one senior, one junior, one sophomore and three freshmen.
The group that has emerged as the top-nine players in Coach Robyn Fralick's rotation consists of three frosh, three sophomores (including one redshirt soph), one junior and a pair of seniors.
A QUICK LOOK AT THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan has an overall record of 18-6, and the Chippewas are 9-3 in MAC play and atop the West Division after a 100-95 win at Buffalo on Saturday. The Chippewas are 7-4 at home, 10-1 on the road and 1-1 in neutral-site games this year to date. CMU is led by the stellar tandem of seniors Reyna Frost and Presley Hudson. Both players are averaging over 20 points per game, with Hudson at 20.9 and Frost at 20.5, and Frost averages 13.2 rebounds while Hudson has 5.7 assists. Hudson is ranked in the nation's top 15 in scoring, three-pointers per game and free-throw percentage, while Frost is in the country's top 25 in double-doubles (21 this year), rebounds, field goals made and points. Hudson already holds the school career records for points, assists, three-pointers made and free-throw percentage, while Frost is the CMU career rebounding leader. Head coach Sue Guevara welcomed back seven letterwinners, including four starters, from last year's team. The 2017-18 Chippewas went 30-5 overall and 15-3 in the MAC, winning the league title and advancing to the NCAA's Sweet Sixteen.
THE SERIES
The Falcons lead Central Michigan, 47-20, in the all-time series between the teams, but the Chippewas have captured the last four meetings, including a 90-54 blowout in Mount Pleasant last year (Jan. 10, 2018). In the last meeting at the Stroh Center (Jan. 14, 2017), Presley Hudson scored 11 of her 34 points in overtime, as Central downed BG, 76-65. BGSU's last series win came on Feb. 19, 2014, a 67-55 victory in a battle of MAC divisional leaders at the Stroh. BGSU is 25-6 in home games, 18-10 on the road and 4-4 in neutral-site contests vs. the Chippewas over the years.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Following the game against CMU – the MAC West Division leader – the Falcons hit the road to face the conference's overall leader. BG meets Miami on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 23), with tipoff set for shortly after 2:00 p.m. in Oxford.
Then, the Brown and Orange will close out the home portion of the schedule with games vs. Akron (Feb. 27) and Kent State (March 2) at the Stroh.
