GUSTAFSON DEFENDS SHOT PUT TITLE
- Redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson won the indoor MAC Championship in the shot put for the second consecutive year. She threw 56-feet-6 (17.22m) on her opening throw and was never threatened the rest of the way. That distance stood up to for her fifth career MAC Championship and fourth in shot put (two in outdoor and two in indoor).
- Gustafson became just the second individual, male or female, to sweep both the shot put and weight throw at a MAC indoor championship in league history. She won the weight throw for the first time in her career Friday.
- For her efforts, Gustafson was named the MAC Most Outstanding Field Performer. It is the second time in her career that she has received that honor. She was also recognized following last year's MAC outdoor championships.
1600 RELAY BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD
- Bowling Green's 1600 relay team broke the school record by running 3:45.49 to finish sixth in an extremely fast race to close out the MAC Championships.
- The extremely youthful team consisted of junior Chasatea Brown, sophomores Savannah Nevels and Ryen Draper, and freshman Iyanna Ross.
- The previous school record of 3:46.89 was set in 2013 by Taylor Rambo, Felicia Jefferson, Brittany Sinclair, and Allison Weimer.
- Brown, Nevels and Draper ran on the 1600 relay team a year ago that posted the second-fastest time in program history at 3:47.06.
