Dylan Frye Named MAC East Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Dylan Frye, a junior guard on the BGSU men's basketball team, was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday (Feb. 4) afternoon.
Frye had a career game in Bowling Green's 92-88 upset over the 18th-ranked Buffalo Bulls on Friday (Feb. 1) night. In a game that moved the Falcons into first place in the MAC, Frye scored a season-high 25 points. The 25 points also set a new conference career high for the Miami native. Frye made a career-high 10 field goals in the victory, going 10-for-16 from the floor.
The record-breaking crowd at the Stroh Center witnessed Frye go 3-for-7 from downtown, connecting on his 150th-career triple in the process. Frye has now scored 20-plus points nine times across his career, including two 20-plus point efforts in 2018-19. The junior is averaging 11.6 points per game on the season, and ranks 15th in the MAC with a 39.1 three-point percentage.
Frye becomes the fourth Falcon this season to receive the weekly honor. Demajeo Wiggins and Justin Turner have been named MAC East Player of the Week twice, while Caleb Fields was tabbed as the division's top player once.
Bowling Green, 15-6 overall and 7-1 in the MAC, plays at Western Michigan on Tuesday (Feb. 5) night at 7 p.m. before hosting Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 9.
