Erin Fahey Named MAC Women’s Golfer Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Erin Fahey, a senior on the BGSU women's golf team, was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. The league office announced the news on Thursday (Feb. 7) afternoon. Two different Falcons have earned the honor this season, as Jessica Madry was selected on Oct. 11.
Fahey, a senior from Austin, Texas, played a key role as the Falcons had a historic week. Bowling Green claimed championships at both the Spring Cup Challenge (Feb. 2) and Mid-American Match Play Challenge (Feb. 4-5). BGSU has now tied the program record for championships in a single season with three.
Both tournaments were match play-style events, and Fahey did not lose a single match. The senior won a foursome and four-ball match, while going undefeated in singles. Fahey went 4-0 in singles matches, while tying the only other singles match she competed in.
Bowling Green wraps up a busy month of February with the Rio Verde Invitational over Feb. 22-24. The Western Michigan-hosted event takes place in Rio Verde, Arizona.
