SATURDAY RECAP: Falcons Take Two on Record-Setting Saturday
SUNDAY RECAP: Falcons Roll Along to Two More Wins in Morehead
Miller, a native of Sugar Land, Texas (Clements), went 4-0 with an ERA of just 1.17, as the Falcons were a perfect 6-0 last week. She had 21 strikeouts in 18 innings, allowed opponents to hit just .203 against her and combined on the Falcons' first no-hitter in over nine years.
Miller, a senior, picked up a win in the Falcons' home opener vs. Oakland on Wednesday (March 13), allowing two earned runs and four hits in six innings. Then, she pitched in two BG wins over St. Bonaventure over the weekend and did not allow a hit in either contest.
She started Saturday's (March 16) game at the Morehead State Classic, and threw three innings of hitless shutout ball in a 21-0 annihilation of the Bonnies. Two other pitchers worked an inning apiece as the Falcons no-hit SBU in that contest.
Then, on Sunday (March 17), Miller pitched two innings of no-hit relief vs. SBU, facing the minimum six hitters and striking out four to pick up the win. Then, she started the day's second game, and allowed only one earned run in a complete-game victory over host Morehead State.
On the year, Miller is now 7-6 with a 3.15 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 75 2/3 innings. She has appeared in 17 of BGSU's 21 games, starting 12.
Miller and the Falcons (10-11) head to Dayton for a pair of games at the WSU Softball Field on Wednesday (March 20). BGSU will face Dayton in a 2:00 p.m. start, then will meet host Wright State in a game slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
