Falcons Finish Third At YSU Spring Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team wrapped up play at the 18-hole YSU Spring Invitational on Saturday (April 13) afternoon. The Falcons shot a team score of 313 to finish in third place at the four-team invitational. The round was played at the Youngstown Country Club in Youngstown, Ohio.
For the second time in as many weeks, Erin Fahey led the way with a second-consecutive top eight finish. After finishing tied for eighth last weekend at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, Fahey again finished T-8 after shooting 77.
Jessica Madry and Sammi Blackburn also had solid days, finishing tied for 11th after both carding rounds of 78, respectively. Bowling Green's lineup was rounded out by performances from Katie Whitfield (79 | T-14), Nichole Cox (80 | T-16), Julia Durkin (82 | T-19), Dani Austinson (84 | T-21), and Sarah Kern (86 | T-25).
Youngstown State, the tournament's host school, won the event by registering a 298 team score. Cleveland State (308) finished in second, while Niagara (322) placed fourth.
