Falcons Close Weekend At Hillsdale, Louisville

Hillsdale, Mich. and Louisville, Ky. – The Bowling Green State University track and field team completed a critical weekend with a strong showing. The team competed both at Hillsdale's GINA Relays and Louisville's Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational. With just one weekend remaining before the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Falcons improved seeding and positioning at a number of spots.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Redshirt senior All-American Aliyah Gustafson won the seeded flight of the shot put at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational, throwing the shot 54-feet-10 (16.71m).
- Redshirt freshman Zaresha Neal placed second in the same division of the shot put, posting a career-best mark of 51-7 (15.72m). That distance has been bettered in the MAC by only Gustafson and Central Michigan's Erin Howard this year.
- Freshman Jazzlynn Gaiters set a personal best time in the 400 at 56.04 seconds, trimming .14 seconds off her previous best.
- At Hillsdale, senior Andrea Weirauch set a personal best in the discus at 129-9 (39.56m).
- Junior Chasatea Brown placed third in the 400 hurdles at 61.49 seconds.
- Neal was fourth in the seeded division of the discus, just four inches shy of her personal best at 171-0 (52.13m). Gustafson finished right behind in fifth at 164-5 (50.12m).
UP NEXT
- Bowling Green will compete Friday at the Len Paddock Invitational, hosted by Michigan. That will be the Falcons' final chance to improve heading into the MAC Championships.
