Lambert, Minorik And Wilson Named To MAC’s All-Defensive Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Three members of the Bowling Green State University baseball team – Neil Lambert, Riley Minorik and Jake Wilson – were named to the Mid-American Conference's All-Defensive Team. The conference office announced the news on Tuesday (May 21) afternoon. Bowling Green placed a MAC-high three players on the All-Defensive Team.
Minorik and Wilson earned the recognition for the second time in their careers, while Lambert is a first-time honoree.
Lambert took home the designation as the MAC's best defensive shortstop. Minorik was picked as the best defensive second baseman in the MAC, while Wilson was tabbed as one of the three best defensive outfielders in the league.
Minorik and Lambert, chosen as the best middle-infield combo in the MAC, both ranked top four in the league in fielding double plays in conference play. Lambert fielded 17 double plays, and Minorik followed in line with 16. Minorik, who earned the same honor as a freshman in 2016, committed just three errors at second base in 186 chances (.984 fielding percentage). Lambert was charged with just six errors (.964 fielding percentage) while playing shortstop.
One of the best defensive centerfielders in the country, Wilson took home All-Defensive Team honors for the second-consecutive season. Wilson, who has committed just three errors over the last 103 games of his career, recorded a .986 fielding percentage in 2019. Wilson is the only one of the three outfield selections this season that is a multi-year honoree.
