BGSU Athletics To Hold Send-Off For Gustafson, Butler Monday At 12:30 PM

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department will hold a send-off for track and field student-athletes Aliyah Gustafson and Kaila Butler Monday at 12:30 pm at the Sebo Center. Gustafson and Butler will represent BGSU at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Austin, Texas.
Gustafson qualified for a national championship meet for the fifth time, doing so by placing fourth at the NCAA East Region preliminary round in the shot put. She placed seventh nationally during the indoor season, earning first team All-American status and will make her third appearance at the outdoor national championships.
Butler qualified for her first national championship meet in the hammer throw, finishing 12th at the NCAA East Region preliminary meet. She won the Mid-American Conference Championship in the event and will represent Team Canada this summer at the World University Games.
BGSU Athletics will send their best wishes Monday at 12:30 pm as the two represent BGSU, the community and Northwest Ohio. Fans wishing to send them off can join Bowling Green at the Sebo Center, connected to Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
In each event, the top 12 finishers from the two regionals converge at the University of Texas for a field of 24 vying for a national championship. Bowling Green is sending two competitors to the national championships for the second consecutive year.
