Falcons Earn All-Academic Status; Four Individuals Named All-Academic

New Orleans, La. – The Bowling Green State University track and field team earned US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team status for the 2019 indoor and outdoor seasons. As well, Kaila Butler, Aliyah Gustafson, Zaresha Neal and Rachel Walny were named individual USTFCCCA All-Academic members.
In order to receive team All-Academic status, a program must maintain a 3.00 cumulative grade point average. BGSU Track & Field posted a 3.21 GPA at the conclusion of the spring 2019 academic year. In total, 227 women's programs, including eight Mid-American Conference schools, were recognized.
In total, 902 women earned USTFCCCA all-academic status by posting a 3.25 cumulative GPA and competing in regional competition (outdoor season) or placing among the top 96 nationally in an event (indoor season). Bowling Green's four individual honorees were tied for the most in the MAC.
Gustafson completed a stellar career by competing at the NCAA National Championships during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Butler qualified for NCAA National Championship competition during the outdoor campaign and Neal advanced to NCAA regional competition in outdoor. Walny was among the top 96 nationally during the indoor track & field season in the 5,000.
