Nichole Cox Within Top 10 After 36 Holes At Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team posted rounds of 317 and 316 today (Sept. 16) at the Cardinal Classic. The Falcons sit in ninth place on the team leaderboard heading into tomorrow's final round of play. The tournament is being hosted by Ball State in Yorktown, Indiana at The Players Club.
Nichole Cox fired two strong rounds – following up an opening-round 77 with an even-better 74 – and sits tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard. Kayla Davis also improved throughout the day and shot a pair of rounds in the 70s. Davis carded a 79 in the first round, and concluded her day with a 77.
Cox, Davis and Danielle Austinson led the Falcons on the day with four birdies. Austinson (166), Madry (162) and Sager (164) rounded out the Bowling Green lineup. Erin Korn turned in Bowling Green's third-best score through the first two rounds of play. The redshirt-freshman shot a 159, and tied her career-low with a 79 in round two.
The hosts, Ball State, lead the field. Playing in their home tournament, the Cardinals registered a team score of 599.
