BGSU Completes First Two Rounds Of 2019-20 Season At Redbird Invitational

Round 1-2 Results
NORMAL, Ill. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team began its 2019-20 season on Sunday (Sept. 8) at the Redbird Invitational. BGSU carded rounds of 309 and 310 for a team score of 619 heading into tomorrow's final round of play. The event is being hosted by Illinois State at the Weibring Golf Club.
The Falcons sit in 14th place on the 17-team leaderboard. Bowling Green is ahead of MAC-foe Ohio, and within two strokes of both Butler and Evansville. IUPUI (586) leads Xavier (587) by one stroke atop the team leaderboard.
Freshman Kayla Davis had a very strong start to her collegiate career, and sits T-38 on the individual leaderboard. After opening the tournament with a 78, Davis carded a second-round 74 for BGSU's best round of the day. Junior Nichole Cox posted a pair of solid rounds, as well, following an opening-round 76 up with a second-round 77. Cox is one stroke off Davis' pace, and sits T-44.
Redshirt-freshman Kelsey Sager and freshman Aly Kovach made their Falcon debuts, and contributed to the team. Sager shot a combined 156 on the day, highlighted by a 76 in the second round. Kovach began her career with a 77 in the first round, while Jessica Madry posted a 78 in the first round of her senior season.
Redshirt-freshman Erin Korn made her Bowling Green debut as an individual and carded rounds of 81 and 79, improving by two strokes after the opening round of play.
