Alec Rauhauser Named Candidate for Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Senior captain Alec Rauhauser of the Bowling Green State University hockey program has been named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, being one of twenty named to the list. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. The list will be narrowed to 10 finalists during the month of February.Â

Once the finalists have been determined, ballots will be distributed to media, coaches and fans who will select one candidate to be chosen as the Senior CLASS Award winner, best showcasing community, classroom, character and competition. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2020 NCAA Men's Frozen Final Four in April.
Of the 20 players named as candidates, five hail from the WCHA being headlined by Rauhauser. On the ice, Rauhauser became the 72nd player in program history to reach 100 career points earlier this season, now with 113. In addition to the Senior CLASS Award, Rauhauser is chasing the Hobey Baker Award, currently in the stage of the fan vote at the below link.

Rauhauser, along with the rest of the Falcons, with have an off weekend this Friday and Saturday before traveling to face Bemidji State to close the month of January and open February (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). They will then return to Slater Family Ice Arena on Feb. 7 to host Alaska Anchorage.Â
