THE BALL IS TIPPED...

Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons meet the Broncos in a 7:00 p.m. start at University Arena.

THE STARTING FIVE (FIVE FUN & FASCINATING FALCON FACTS)
• It's a well-known fact that BGSU leads the all-time series with each of the other 11 MAC schools. The Falcons' series with WMU is the closest of any of those 11, as BGSU leads the Broncos by a narrow 36-33 margin through the years.
• The Falcons are coming off of a narrow loss to league-leading Central Michigan on Saturday. BG took a brief lead with just over four minutes to go, before the Chippewas retook the lead en route to an 82-75 victory in Mount Pleasant.
• Junior Madisen Parker was 3-for-5 from three-point range at CMU. Parker now has made 78 long-range shots this year, tying her for third on the BGSU single-season list. She leads the MAC and is ranked in the top 10 in the nation in three long-distance categories.
Â
• Junior Angela Perry had a double-double at CMU, hitting eight shots from the field vs. the Chippewas. Perry is shooting 59.2% from the floor this season, leading the conference and ranking 13th in the country.
• Parker, Perry, fourth-year Falcon Caterrion Thompson and sophomore Kadie Hempfling each scored 11 or more points on Saturday vs. CMU. That quartet has combined for 61 double-digit scoring games this season after totaling 28 as a group prior to this winter.
OFF THE BENCH (A FEW MORE FUN FALCON FACTS)
• The Falcons are averaging 73.0 points per game this year to date. BGSU has not averaged over 70 ppg in nine years, since the 2010-11 team scored 71.8 ppg.
• BGSU has scored 75 or more points in a game 11 times this season, surpassing the total (nine) for all of last year. The Falcons had not had 10 or more games of 75-plus points since the 2013-14 team had 12 such contests en route to 30 wins.
• In six of BGSU's 11 MAC losses, the Falcons have held the lead with under four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

A QUICK LOOK AT THE BRONCOS
• Western Michigan is 13-10 overall, and the Broncos have a 6-6 record in MAC play. Western brings a two-game winning streak into Wednesday's game, including a home win over Buffalo and a road victory vs. Northern Illinois.
• WMU is 7-3 at home, 4-6 on the road and 2-1 in neutral-site matchups this year to date. In MAC action, the Broncos are 4-2 in Kalamazoo and 2-4 in hostile venues.
• Jordan Walker leads the team in scoring, with 15.0 ppg, with Breanna Mobley (14.2) and Leighah-Amori Wool (12.2) close behind. Mobley leads the MAC in rebounding (11.0) and is third in the entire nation with 16 double-doubles.
• Head coach Shane Clipfell returned seven letterwinners, including three starters, from a 2018-19 Bronco squad that finished with records of 10-20 overall and 4-14 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead WMU, 36-33, in the all-time series, and BG captured this year's first meeting, a 72-63 decision at the Stroh Center (Jan. 22) that snapped Western's 10-game series winning streak. The teams' last meeting in Kalamazoo saw the Broncos come away with an 85-71 victory two years ago (March 5, 2018), in the first round of the MAC Tournament. The Falcons are 19-14 at home, 14-18 on the road and 3-1 at neutral sites vs. the Broncos over the years. Much more info on the BG-Western series can be found on page 14 of the PDF version of these anything-but-tedious notes.
