LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday (Feb. 3) by going 1-1 at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge. The BGSU-hosted event is taking place at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
The Falcons were defeated in the opening round, 3-0-2, by Morehead State, but rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Central Michigan in the consolation bracket. Bowling Green will conclude the event with a 9 a.m. match against Ohio on Tuesday (Feb. 4).
In Bowling Green's afternoon victory, Aly Kovach, Jessica Madry and Nichole Cox picked up head-to-head wins. Madry halved her match in the morning against Morehead State, as did Kayla Davis.
