Fan Vote: Top 25 Student-Athletes Of The Past 20 Years -- No. 24 Dylan Frye
September 01, 2020 | Men's Basketball
Bowling Green, Ohio -- For a week, we asked our fans to vote for their favorite student-athletes of the past 20 years. Beginning this week, we will reveal one selection at a time each weekday over a five-week stretch. Today, we highlight your No. 24 pick for the top student-athlete of the past 20 years, men's basketball player Dylan Frye!
24. Dylan Frye (2016-20)
Â
Originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Dylan Frye's three-point barrage brought the Stroh Center to life.
Â
One of the best guards in team history, Frye finished his career at No. 1 in three-pointers made with 238, to go with his career totals of 1,458 points (15th all-time), 337 rebounds, and 306 assists (tied for 10th all-time). Frye resides in great company with Antonio Daniels and Keith McLeod as being the only BGSU players to rank top-10 in career assists and top-15 in career scoring.
Â
Some of Frye's most memorable performances include scoring a career-high 30 points against Dartmouth in 2019, sinking the game-winning three-point shot against Florida Gulf Coast in 2017, and scoring 25 points to defeat the 18th ranked Buffalo Bulls in front of a sold out crowd at the Stroh Center in 2019. He also scored 25 points in the 2019 MAC Tournament Semifinals against Northern Illinois to help the Falcons punch their ticket to a date with the Bulls in the finals.
Â
Dylan Frye signed his first pro basketball contract to play in Croatia in August. CLICK HERE for that information.
