Falcons Head To Bemidji For First CCHA Game in 3,163 Days

Bemidji, Minn. – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (2-0-2, 0-0-0) will open their 2021-22 CCHA campaign with a series against the No. 17 Bemidji State Beavers (3-3-0, 2-0-0), with games on Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30. Puck drop for Friday's game is 8:07 p.m. ET. Saturday's game begins at 7:07 p.m. ET. This is Bowling Green's first game against a CCHA opponent in 3,163 days. With their 2-0-2 record, the Falcons are the only team in the country that remains unbeaten this season.

Parking is available at the Sanford Center. Per Bemidji State University policy, fans are required to wear masks in the Sanford Center, regardless of vaccination status.

This marks the first meeting between the Falcons and Beavers since Jan. 22, 2021, a 3-1 victory for BSU. The teams first met on Dec. 30, 2011, with the Beavers winning 4-1. Bowling Green holds a 15-13-3 lead in the all-time series.

Bemidji State opened the season with a series against #5 Minnesota-Duluth, then continued with two games against #6 North Dakota. The Beavers lost the first three games before topping the Fighting Hawks in overtime. Last weekend, BSU traveled to Northern Michigan and swept the Wildcats. This was the first CCHA series in BSU history.

- Following the RPI series, Gabriel Chicoine (3 assists) was named CCHA Defenseman of the Week, and Austen Swankler (2 assists) was named CCHA Rookie of the Week.
- Nathan Burke leads the Falcons with 4 goals this season, with Ethan Scardina in second with 3. Scardina has scored the Falcons' first goal in the last three games.
- In the Miami series, Coale Norris, Brayden Krieger, and Ben Wozney registered their first career points as Falcons. Max Coyle also netted the first goal of his collegiate career.
