Third Period Push Gives Falcons Win Over Tommies

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (4-1-2, 2-1-0) opened the home portion of their CCHA schedule with a 4-2 victory over St. Thomas (1-10-0, 1-6-0). Four different Falcons found the net, including Seth Fyten, who scored his first goal of the season. Austen Swankler, Chrystopher Collin, and Nathan Burke rounded out the goal-scoring for the Orange and Brown.

Scoring Plays
- The Tommies got on the board first, with Matthew Jennings scoring four minutes into the opening period. Nolan Sawchuk was credited with the lone assist.
- Austen Swankler evened the score with a power play goal for the Falcons. He slotted a shot from the right side, with T.J. Lloyd earning the assist.
- The Falcons wasted no time taking the lead, scoring just 23 seconds later. Seth Fyten knocked in a rebound from the left side, with Chrystopher Collin and T.J. Lloyd notching the assists.
- St. Thomas tied it back up near the midpoint of the third period, with Christiano Versich scoring his third goal of the season. Matthew Jennings and Kyler Grundy tallied the assists.
- With just under seven minutes remaining, Chystopher Collin scored what proved to be the game-winning goal for Bowling Green. Ethan Scardina circled the back of the net before feeding Collin for the score. Scardina and Seth Fyten earned the assists.
- Nathan Burke sealed the game for BGSU with a power play goal, scoring with under three minutes left. The senior connected on deflected shot and scored his fifth goal of the season, with Alex Barber and Taylor Schneider being credited with the assists.

Falcon Facts
- Austen Swankler's first period goal was his eighth point of the season, the highest total on the team.
- T.J. Lloyd tallied two assists on the night, his second multi-assist game of the year. The defenseman now leads the team with five assists. His career point total is now 30.
- Nathan Burke's power play score was his fifth goal of the year, the most for the Falcons.
- Chrystopher Collin scored his third goal in three games. He also tallied an assist, giving him a multi-point performance for the second time this season.
- Seth Fyten also notched a goal and an assist, the first time in his career he has tallied multiple points.
- Ethan Scardina earned his first assist of the year, Alex Barber added his second, and Taylor Schneider tallied his fourth.
