Both of this week's games are against nationally-ranked opponents, as BGSU faces Kentucky in Lexington tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, March 2) and Akron on Sunday (March 7). Both contests are scheduled to be available on ESPN+. The UK and UA matches will be the second and third consecutive contests vs. nationally-ranked foes for the Falcons. The Falcons' two opponents met one another last week, as Akron and Kentucky battled to a 1-1 tie. It marked the season opener for the Zips, who face Marshall on Tuesday before hosting the Brown and Orange. UK played a fall schedule, and the Wildcats are 7-1-1 in 2020-21, including a 6-0-1 mark at home. Entering that UK match, the Falcons are 20-10-3 over the last 33 matches, dating to late in the 2018 season

After a 10-day layoff between games, the Falcons clinched the conference crown with Saturday's 79-64 win at Akron. Kadie Hempfling had another well-rounded stat line with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Elissa Brett had 18 points, eight boards and a game-best plus/minus rating of +21. Friday, March 5 at Central Michigan, 12:00 pm | ESPN3/+ | Radio | Live Stats | @BGSUVolleyball

Currently 11-0, the Falcons will need just one more win to tie and two to break the program record for most wins to begin a season, currently set at 12 by the 2011 team. For the current edition of the BGSU volleyball program, the 11-0 start has put them in the national conversation, receiving votes in the last two national polls.Â
