BGSU women's soccer will host nine regular-season matches this fall
Bowling Green State University men's soccer coach Jimmy Walker has announced his team's schedule for the 2021 season. The three-time defending Mid-American Conference champions will play an 18-match regular-season slate that includes nine contests inside the friendly confines of Cochrane Stadium.
The Falcons' arduous non-conference slate includes four matches vs. Big Ten Conference opponents, as well as one game each vs. teams from the ACC, Big East and Horizon League.
"We are very excited about our fall 2021 schedule," said Walker. "It is going to be a really challenging non-conference schedule that will get us ready for Mid-American Conference play."
The home schedule includes MACÂ matches against -- in chronological order -- Northern Illinois, Ohio, Miami, Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and Toledo. The Brown and Orange will host Oakland, Illinois and Xavier in non-league play.
BGSU's conference road games see the Falcons take on Western Michigan, Kent State, Ball State, Central Michigan and Akron. In non-conference action, BG travels to Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State
Prior to the regular-season opener at Notre Dame (Aug. 19), the Brown and Orange will play scrimmages vs. Valparaiso at home (Aug. 7) and Cincinnati on the road (Aug. 10). BGSU's first regular-season home match is the Oakland contest on Aug. 29.
The MAC Tournament begins with quarterfinal-round matches on Oct. 31, with the semifinals scheduled for Nov. 4 and the final slated for Nov. 7.
