BGSU Set For Cardinal Classic This Week

YORKTOWN, Ind. – The Bowling Green women's golf team will head west this week for the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State. The event marks the third of the 2021-22 season for the Falcons after competing in the Redbird Invitational and the Golfweek Program Challenge.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72 Players Club in Yorktown, Ind. The 6,204-yard course will provide the backdrop to 36 holes being played on Monday, set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final 18 will be played on Saturday, scheduled for a 9 a.m. tee.
Cardinal Classic
The event will feature a total of 16 teams, including host Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Ohio, Akron and Bowling Green representing the Mid-American Conference. The rest of the field will round out with Dayton, Loyola, Butler, Cleveland State, Taylor, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Valparaiso, Oakland and Purdue Fort Wayne.

Falcon Notes
- The Orange and Brown will be back at the Cardinal Classic for the first time since September of 2019. Nichole Cox and Kayla Davis were the Falcons' top finishers seeing Cox come in with a tie for seventh and Davis a tie for 32nd.
- Nichole Cox and Kayla Davis will both be back on the course for Bowling Green, being the only two who have played in all three tournaments so far this season.
- The Falcons will mix up the players competing this week with Aly Kovach and Savannah Wyrick both seeing their first action of the season.
- Mallory Swartz will round out the lineup. Swartz competed at the Redbird Invitational to start the season.
