Women's Golf To Compete At Bearkat Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Bowling Green women's golf team will travel to Texas for the next event on the schedule, the Bearkat Invitational hosted by Sam Houston State. The Falcons are coming off their best finish of the season at the Cardinal Classic that included Kayla Davis capturing first place and MAC Golfer of the Week honors.
The two-day 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-71 Elkins Lake Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas. The tournament will utilize both The Lakes and The Ravines courses. The two courses will combine for a 6,068-yard tournament. Play will begin on Monday (Sept. 27) with 36 holes before concluding with the final 18 on Tuesday (Sept. 28).

The tournament will include a total of 14 teams competing with Bowling Green being the lone participant from the Mid-American Conference. The rest of the field will include host Sam Houston State along with Grand Canyon, California Baptist, UTEP, Incarnate Word, Texas-Arlington, Tarleton State, UTRGV, Houston Baptist, Stephen F. Austin, Louisiana-Monroe, Lamar and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Falcon Notes
- The Falcons are coming off their best finish of the young season at the Cardinal Classic, including Kayla Davis taking first place individually.
- Mallory Swartz and Nichole Cox will once again join Davis in representing Bowling Green after playing last week at the Cardinal Classic.
- Kelsey Sager and Sammi Blackburn will rotate in for the Orange and Brown in Texas. Sager previously played at the Redbird Invitational and the Golfweek Fall Challenge while Blackburn competed at the Golfweek Fall Challenge as well.
- With Davis winning last week, the Falcons will have the rest of the season to seek a second tournament winner. The last time Bowling Green had two first place finishes, individually, in the same season was 2014 when both Lily Bartell and Madelynn Swank each won an event.
