WHAT TO WATCH FOR...
• The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team enters the week in an unfamiliar position – looking to bounce back from a loss in Mid-American Conference play. Head coach Jimmy Walker and the Falcons, the three-time defending MAC champions, end the month of September by hosting Ohio University on Thursday night (Sept. 30), with first touch scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Cochrane Stadium.
• Then, the Orange and Brown will kick off the October portion of the schedule with a Sunday (Oct. 3) contest at Kent State University. The Falcons and Golden Flashes will meet in a 1:00 p.m. start at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE FALCONS
• Thursday's Ohio match will be streamed on YouTube, free of charge, and produced by WBGU-TV. There will also be a free live stream of Sunday's contest at KSU, and live stats will be available for both matches.

BG LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK
• The Falcons opened MAC play with a 2-0 win at Western Michigan on Thursday (Sept. 23), but BG dropped a 2-1 decision to Northern Illinois on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 26). It is just the fourth loss to a MAC opponent in the last 37 matches, dating to the beginning of the 2018 season.
• BGSU has successfully bounced back from the three previous MAC losses in that span, going 3-0-0 in the next game and outscoring opponents, 14-0. The Falcons have not lost back-to-back MAC matches since October of 2016 (2-1 loss at Central Michigan; 2-0 loss at Ball State).

TOUGH CROWD
• The Falcons finished the non-conference schedule with a record of 1-4-2. Six of BGSU's seven non-league opponents are in the top 75 in the RPI, with three of those schools (Xavier, Notre Dame and Michigan) in the top 24.
SUCCESSFUL IN THE MAC
• The Falcons have enjoyed great success in MAC play in recent years. BGSU advanced to the MAC Tournament's championship match in 2017 before falling in overtime, and the Falcons then proceeded to win both the regular-season and tournament titles in both 2018 and '19.
• In 2020 (actually 2020-21), the Falcons went 5-1-0 in MAC regular-season action, then defeated Ball State in the MAC Championship to advance to the NCAA Championships for the third-straight season.
• Entering Thursday's Ohio match, the Falcons have a 49-24-10 overall record since the start of the 2017 season. BGSU is 32-8-1 in MAC regular-season matches and 39-9-3 in all games vs. conference foes in that time.

SUCCESSFUL AT HOME
• The Falcons went a perfect 4-0-0 at Cochrane Stadium in the spring, with all four wins coming against MAC opponents. BGSU outscored the foes, 10-1, in those four matches.
• BGSU enters Thursday's Ohio match with a record of 30-6-4 at home since the start of the 2017 season. The Falcons are 23-3-2 against MAC teams at Cochrane Stadium in that time.
• In those 28 contests vs. conference competition, BGSU has outscored the opposition, 60-21.
SUCCESSFUL ON THE ROAD

THE OPPONENTS
• Ohio enters Thursday's match with a 6-3-0 record, and the Bobcats are off to a 2-0-0 start in the MAC with wins over Buffalo (2-1) and Akron (1-0). Shae Robertson leads a balanced scoring attack with three goals and six points, while Sam Wexell has played every minute in goal and has 25 saves, four shutouts and a GAA of just 1.00.
• Kent State is 5-3-1 overall, and the Golden Flashes take a 1-0-1 MAC record into a Thursday match at Toledo. KSU defeated UA (1-0) before drawing at Buffalo (0-0). Cameron Shedenhelm leads the team with 11 points, while Khyla Porter has eight points and is tied with Shedenhelm for the team lead in goals, with four. Sarah Melen has started every game in goal and has 34 saves, three clean sheets and a 1.44 GAA.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons trail Ohio, 12-9-5, in the all-time series, but BGSU has captured the last five matchups, including a pair in the spring. BG picked up a 1-0 overtime win at Cochrane Stadium on March 7, 2021, then downed the Bobcats by a 3-0 final in Athens three weeks later (March 28, 2021). BGSU is 7-5-2 at home and 2-7-3 on the road vs. Ohio.
