THE OPENING TIP – STREAKS, STORYLINES AND SIDEBARS
• After being idle for 11 days, the Falcons and now in the midst of playing five games over the next 11 days. BGSU concludes that busy stretch with home games against the top-two teams in the MAC standings, as WMU and Toledo (Saturday's BG opponent) have a combined conference record of 12-1, with the one loss coming when the Broncos and Rockets played each other.
• BGSU is coming off of a 71-60 win at Eastern Michigan on Monday night (Jan. 24), the Falcons' first road win of the 2021-22 season. Kadie Hempfling led the Falcons in scoring for the third-straight game, with 19 points vs. the Eagles, while Zoe Miller made her first six shots of the night en route to 14 points of her own.
• Hempfling enters the WMU game with a career total of 997 points as a Falcon. She needs just three more to become only the 29th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
• Madisen Parker hit four three-point field goals on Saturday at Ohio, and added another in the EMU game. She now has made a total of 224 triples in her career, good for fourth place on that BGSU list. Parker's next target is Tracy Pontius (2007-11), who hit 235 treys in her storied Falcon career.
• BGSU is now 17-7 in MAC regular-season games since the start of the 2020-21 season, after going 8-46 in the previous three seasons (2017-18 to '19-20). That 17-7 record includes a 10-3 mark at the Stroh and a 7-4 ledger in conference road games.
• Hempfling has now started 104 career games at BGSU, good for 10th place on that BGSU list. Meanwhile, Parker has played in a total of 131 contests, and is fifth in school history on that Falcon chart. Parker is just four games away from tying the school record in that category. If the current schedule does not change and she plays in each game, Parker would tie the school record on Feb. 5 at Ball State and break it four days later (Feb. 9) vs. Northern Illinois at the Stroh.
• Hempfling has scored 55 points over the last three games, an average of 18.3 points per outing. Hempfling, Parker and Sharps have made a combined 88 three-point field goals, and that trio is shooting 45.6% (88 of 193) from the arc.

The Broncos, riding a two-game winning streak after road victories against Eastern Michigan and Miami, are 4-1 at home and 6-3 on the road to date.
• Lauren Ross leads the team in scoring, with 20.1 points per game, while Reilly Jacobson and Taylor Williams have 12.4 and 12.1 ppg, respectively. Williams paces the team with 9.1 rebounds per contest. Head coach Shane Clipfell welcomed back 12 letterwinners, including all five starters, from a 2020-21 club that went 6-15 overall and 5-15 in the MAC.
