FASCINATING FALCON FACTS & FIGURES
• BGSU enters the Miami match with an overall record of 5-5-4, and the Falcons are 3-2-3 in MAC play. Most recently, the Orange and Brown battled MAC-leading Buffalo to a scoreless draw on Sunday (Oct. 16) at Cochrane Stadium.
• With three matches remaining in the regular season, the Falcons currently sit in fifth place in the 12-team standings. BGSU has 12 points, one point behind fourth-place Miami (13 points) and one ahead of sixth-place Western Michigan (11). The top-six teams in the final standings will qualify for the MAC Tournament, with the first- and second-place teams earning first-round byes, and the third- and fourth-seeded teams hosting quarterfinal-round matches.
• Senior Kennedy White leads the Falcons with 11 goals and 23 points this season. White, who had 10 goals as a freshman in 2019, is just the third player in BGSU history with multiple seasons of double-digit goals. BGSU Hall-of-Famer Kristy Coppes scored 10 or more goals in all four of her years, while Erica Hubert, like White, had a double-digit goal total in two seasons.
• White has eight goals in BGSU's eight MAC matches. She leads the MAC in both goals and points, both overall and in conference games.
• Freshman Brynn Gardner is second on the team in scoring, with 12 points on three goals and a team-leading six assists. Gardner had a goal and an assist against Ohio (Oct. 9) after assisting on White's first goal at UA.
• Maya Dean is third on the team with nine points, and she is second on the Falcons in assists, with five. Dean, like White, had seven points in the two-match span vs. Akron and Ohio, and she has been involved in the scoring of seven of BGSU's last 10 goals.
• Lacee Bethea has four points this fall, while Katie Cox, Abby Koly and Alaina Uncapher each have three.
• Senior Lili Berg has started all 14 matches in goal this season, and has 56 saves and a 1.05 goals-against average. Berg has been part of 22 shutouts in 43 career starts with the Falcons.
• Berg and the BGSU back line have allowed just one goal over the last four games.
• A total of 15 different players have started at least one match for the Falcons this season. Six Falcons – Berg, Cox, Dean, White, Lexi Czerwien and Mackenzie Reuber – have started all 14 matches to date.
• Entering the Miami match, Reuber has appeared in a total of 87 matches as a Falcon, tying her for second place on the BGSU career list for matches played. If she sees action in each of the Falcons' final three regular-season games, she will tie Julie Trundle (90 matches played from 2002-05) for first place on that list.
• A total of 23 players have seen action for the Falcons this fall, with no fewer than 18 of them having played in at least 10 matches to date.
THE OPPONENTS
• Miami has an overall record of 7-3-5, and the RedHawks are 3-1-4 in the MAC – good for fourth place – entering Thursday's battle with BGSU. MU is unbeaten in the last five matches, including a 1-0 win over Western Michigan and a scoreless draw at Toledo last week. Makenna Morrison and Camber Hayes each have 10 points this fall. Morrison has a team-high five goals, while Hayes has a goal and a team-best eight assists. Izzie Vaccari has played every second between the posts and has 55 saves, eight shutouts and a goals-against average of just 0.67. Head coach Courtney Sirmans and the RedHawks finished with records of 8-8-3 overall and 5-6-0 in the MAC last fall.
• Eastern Michigan is 3-9-3 overall, and the Eagles are 2-5-1 in the MAC, heading into a Thursday match at Northern Illinois. The Eagles split a pair of 2-1 decisions last week, losing to UT before going on the road and beating WMU. Both of EMU's conference wins to date have come on the road. Individually, Maddie O'Farrell has team-leading totals of five goals and 13 points, while Hannah Thompson has four goals and nine points on the year. Rebecca Przybylo has made 13 starts in goal and has one shutout, 65 saves and a 2.15 GAA. Last year, coach Scott Hall's club finished 2-13-3 overall and 1-8-2 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• BGSU trails Miami, 13-12-3, in the all-time series, but the Falcons have won the last five meetings. Last season, the Orange and Brown picked up a 3-1 win at Cochrane Stadium (Oct. 10, 2021). Miami's last win was a 2-1 triumph at Cochrane on Sept. 25, 2015. BG is 8-5-1 in home games, 4-7-2 in road meetings and 0-1-0 in neutral-site matchups with MU through the years.
• The Falcons trail Eastern Michigan, 15-13-2, in that series, but BG is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings. BG posted a 3-0 home win in last year's meeting (Oct. 14, 2021), and the Falcons captured a 2-1 overtime victory in the last matchup in Ypsilanti (Oct. 13, 2019). • The MAC Tournament begins with a pair of quarterfinal-round matchups on Sunday, Oct. 30. The regular-season champion then will host the league tourney semifinals (Thursday, Nov. 3) and the championship match (Sunday, Nov. 6).
