ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons tennis team completed the first day of competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regionals. Ioanna Tsadari advanced in the main singles draw, defeating Issey Purser of Michigan State. Tsadari took the first set, 6-3, but Purser flipped the script with a 6-3 win of her own in the second set. In the decisive final set, Tsadari was able to close strong and earn a 6-4 victory, advancing to the Round of 32.

Two doubles duos competed for the Orange and Brown, with Tsadari and Eloise Saraty pairing for an 8-2 win over DePaul's Mayya Perova and Maddie Yergler. In the second round, the pair dropped an 8-4 match to Michigan's Lily Jones and Julia Fliegner. Fliegner entered the weekend ranked No. 125 nationally in singles.

The other doubles team competing for BGSU was Hannah Neuman and Maru Poppe. They battled Ayshe Can and Liisa Vehvilainen of Michigan State, falling by a score of 8-2. Lucy Furness played in the consolation singles for the Falcons, winning in three sets against DePaul's Greta Carbone. Furness made quick work of the first set, winning 6-1, but Carbone rebounded with a 6-4 second-set victory. Furness was triumphant in the third set, winning 10-5.
