Falcons host two regular season meets and MAC Indoor Championships in renovated Perry Field House
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green track and field program has announced the schedule for the 2022-23 indoor season. The Falcons will compete in seven regular season meets, including two at home, before hosting the 2023 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Both home regular season meets, as well as the MAC Championships, will be held in the newly renovated Perry Field House.
Â
The season begins on Saturday, December 10, with Bowling Green hosting the Tom Wright Open. The event will be held in the Perry Field House as the Falcons compete against Dayton and Ball State. Tom Wright was inducted into the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002 after a career that included earning All-American honors three times as a student-athlete and mentoring nine All-Americans as a coach.
After a month off, the Falcons resume competition on Saturday, January 14. Once again, BGSU will compete at home, hosting the Falcon Early Bird Open at the Perry Field House. The Orange and Brown will welcome MAC opponents Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Kent State for the first competition of 2023.
Â
The following weekend, Bowling Green travels to Youngstown for the Youngstown State Collegiate Invitational, held on Friday, January 20. Last season, the Falcons took the top two places in three events at the YSU Collegiate Holiday Classic. Jemilia Hunter and Jazzlynn Gaiters placed first and second in the 400, with Zaresha Neal and Katie Seyfang taking the top spots in the shot put. In the triple jump, Brianna Richard placed first and Ayanna Burrell finished second. Additionally, Hunter and Tianna Mulligan added second-place finishes in the 60 and 200, respectively, with each earning a PR.
Â
On January 27-28, the Falcons will compete at the Penn State National Open, their first multi-day competition of the season. The weekend meets continue in February, as Bowling Green heads to the Akron Invite on February 3-4. At last year's Akron Invite, Neal, Burrell, and Darrian Braddix won events in the Gold Division, with each recording a PR.
Â
The final regular season meets will be held in Michigan, starting with the GVSU Big Meet on February 10-11. Grand Valley State University hosts the Falcons for the fourth consecutive Big Meet, held in Allendale, Michigan. The regular season concludes on Friday, February 17, as BGSU travels to Ann Arbor for the Silverston Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan.
Â
On February 24-25, Bowling Green hosts the 2023 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the program's first time hosting since 2018. Like 2018, the events will be held in the Perry Field House. Last season, Zaresha Neal won the shot put, as did the Distance Medley Relay team of Kailee Perry, Darian Braddix, Raegan Burkey, and Katerina Shuble.
Â
Those who qualify for the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will compete on March 10-11 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Zaresha Neal represented the Falcons last season, placing 13th in the shot put and earning second-team All-American honors.

Coach Lou Snelling's Take
"We're looking forward to having a consistent home presence culminating in hosting the Indoor MAC Championships on February 24-25. Both the collegiate and high school meet's we're hosting give us a great opportunity to show off the recently completed updates to our facility. Aesthetically, functionally, and historically we're excited about the many improvements."
