Falcons Split Match Play During First Day Of Mid-American Challenge

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Bowling Green women's golf team began the spring slate of their schedule on Monday (Feb. 7) at the Royal Lakes Golf Course in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The Falcons entered the event as the No. 8 seed in the field of 12, taking on No. 9 Western Illinois in the first round.
Bowling Green was able to take a 4-1 victory over WIU, advancing to face No. 1 Central Michigan in the second round. Bowling Green gave the top-seeded Chippewas a hard fought second round of competition, coming up just shy with a final score of 3-2 in favor of CMU. The Orange and Brown are now set to face No. 10 Western Michigan to start day two with the third of four total rounds.
Individually, Kayla Davis and Aly Kovach led the way for the Falcons, each picking up two victories for BGSU on the day. Nichole Cox and MacKenzie Moore each added a win throughout the day as well for the Falcons. BGSU will begin play on Tuesday on the back nine with the members of the team teeing off between 7:50 and 8:18 a.m.
