Falcons Return to Northeast Ohio to Face Cleveland State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team return to Northeast Ohio for the second straight weekend, this time against the Vikings of Cleveland State.
The Falcons will start competition at 11 a.m. this weekend at Cleveland State with sights set on victory.
FEATURED FALCONS
Last weekend marked the second straight season the Falcons opened competition at Akron's Zips Classic. This season the Falcons had three event wins and scored 110 more points than a year prior. The Falcons were led by senior Falcon diver Rayah Blood. Blood took home two event wins in both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter Diving. Blood scored 287.30 in the 3-Meter and 256.60 in the 1-Meter Diving. Thanks to these efforts Blood was named MAC Diver of the Week on Wednesday (Oct. 18).
Freshmen Falcon Joanna Robertson added her first collegiate event win in the 100 Breaststroke. Robertson glided to a 1st place finish thanks to a time of 1:02.63. Robertson wasn't the only freshmen to find success at Akron. Blanca Sanz added the lone Falcon individual third place finish in the 500 Freestyle. Sanz finished with a time of 5:01.76 with fellow Falcons Livia Castro and Abby Toepfer on her toes.
The Backstroke swimmers set their eyes on the podium with a tandem of 3rd place finishes. First Emily McNicol took home third in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.42. Then, Morgan Sokol added a bronze medal in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:03.12.
