Falcons Look to Take Care of Business at Busbey Natatorium

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team heads to Cleveland this week to participate in the Magnus Cup hosted by Cleveland State. The Falcons will be in a field including two MAC rivals in Akron and Toledo.
Business at Busbey Natatorium
This will be the Falcons second trip to Cleveland State this season. The first resulted in a win for the Orange and Brown against the Vikings by a score of 165-135. The Falcons were led by the divers sweeping both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter diving events. Freshman flyer Natalia Mayorga came away with wins in both events and was followed closely by fellow Falcons Evie Long and Rayah Blood.
On the swimming side of things, the Falcons had five swimmers come away with their own event wins. Emily McNicol paced the Falcons with two wins, one in the 100 Back and another in the 200. Freshmen Joanna Robertson continued her strong start to begin her collegiate career with a win in the 100 Breaststroke. Meanwhile, Grace Bodrock added her first win of the season in the 200 Butterfly. Then, one of the senior captains, Riley McNichols captured a win in 100 Butterfly. The final event win of the day went to another captain, Ava Vial, in the 200 IM.
Last Time Out
The Falcons last competition came two weeks ago in the Battle of I-75. The Falcons were led by the Backstroke swimmers in the last meet coming away with two wins in two events. Emily McNicol took home a victory in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.95. Morgan Sokol then added a win in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:05.89.
The Falcons other two wins came from Bodrock and Blood. Grace Bodrock swam to the top of the podium in the 200 Butterfly thanks to a time of 2:06.63. Diving captain Rayah Blood then added another event win to both her collegiate and season totals with a win in the 1-Meter Diving thanks to a score of 277.28.
