A Bowling Green Win Would…
Scouting The HilltoppersÂ
Under new head coach Steve Lutz, Western Kentucky has spelled a strong start to their season with a 3-1 standing. The wins for WKU have come at home against Kentucky Wesleyan and Kentucky State while topping Murray State on the road, 86-81. The lone loss for Western Kentucky came against Wichita State, 71-61, on the road. In wins, WKU is averaging over 90 points per game, but were held to 61 in their loss.Â
BGSU v. Western Kentucky, A HistoryÂ
Western Kentucky is the most familiar opponent for the Falcons so far this season with 34 previous meetings dating back to 1944. With this time marking the 35th meeting all-time, it will be the eighth total, and second consecutive, at a neutral site after last playing in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Falcons won the last matchup with a score of 77-75. A win for BGSU would give the Orange and Brown back-to-back wins over WKU for the third time in program history, tying the program record. Bowling Green won back-to-back over WKU in 1960 and 1962 as well as 1944 and 1946, the first two meetings all-time.Â
Agee Crashing The Offensive BoardsÂ
Rashaun Agee has been one of the best players in the MAC this season in terms of offensive rebounds. Through the first four games, Agee is averaging 3.5 offensive boards per game, placing him inside the Top 50 in the nation with a tie for 43rd. The mark also has Agee among the top in the MAC, tied with Western Michigan's Titus Wright for fourth. So far this season, Agee has hauled in 14 offensive rebounds, accounting for more than half of his 26 total.Â
Humphrey From ThreeÂ
DaJion Humphrey currently leads the Falcons in three-point field goal percentage (45.5) and is currently one of the best in the MAC from behind the arc. Humphrey's percentage ranks second in the conference behind only Miami (OH)'s Darweshi Hunter (47.8%). Humphrey's long-range percentage is tied for 46th in the nation among qualified players and he's fourth in the MAC for three-point field goals made with 10.
McComb Posts Career NightÂ
In the game against Bellarmine, sophomore guard Anthony McComb III put together his best game yet as a Falcon. McComb tallied a career-high 15 points for the Orange and Brown, leading the team, while shooting 50% from the field. He added his first game at BGSU with multiple three-pointers made while going 3-of-5 from the free throw line, his first attempts from the stripe this season. He filled out his stat line with two rebounds and his first block.
