Lou Snelling, Track and Field and Cross Country Head Coach
"I am excited to announce the addition of Reggie Trotter to the Bowling Green XC/TF staff. He comes to us from UCLA bringing a successful and diverse resume from his time there. Coach Trotter has a technical approach to his training in the sprints, jumps, and multis which fits us well. I am confident he will oversee continued MAC level success BG TF has enjoyed in those events and help our Student-Athletes have a greater impact at the national level."
Trotter comes from a highly decorated UCLA Track and Field program, working directly with the high jumpers for three years. Trotter helped guide five PAC-12 high jump scorers. While also coaching 28 regional qualifiers, 15 national qualifiers, and 4 first team All-Americans while he was at UCLA.
Chet Hesson, Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Experience/Deputy Title IX Coordinator
"Reggie Trotter really stood out during the interview process as someone who has the technical skills, but more importantly, someone that can continue to grow and spearhead the development of our sprints, jumps, and multi-athletes. He's an eager coach and is poised to continue the positive momentum we've created right now within the program. I look for great things to come from Coach Trotter, and the impact he will have on the whole team."
Prior to UCLA, Trotter coached jumps and sprints at Marymount High School in 2018-19, guiding the team to a league championship. Trotter also coached several league champions, including the school record holder in the girls' triple jump (39-05.00).
