MAC Field Athlete of the Week: Zaresha Neal, Senior, Bowling Green
Zaresha Neal competed in the shot put for Bowling Green at the Penn State National Open, finishing second with a mark of 53-11.25 (16.44m). This is the top mark in the MAC this season and ranks her 25th nationally. It is the 14th-best in program history, with only two people in BGSU history reaching a higher mark. Neal holds five of the top 15 and eight of the top 20 shot put marks in school history.
Â
This is Neal's first MAC award of the season and third of her career. One of her previous recognitions came during the indoor season and the other during the outdoor season. This is also the first MAC award of the year for BGSU, who had two awards last season (both Neal).
Â
"Zaresha had an outstanding series of throws at Penn State. She's setting herself up well for a strong second half of the indoor track season," said throws coach Marcus Myers. "We are excited to see what else she can accomplish this year!"
