Bowling Green Heads to the Desert for WMU’s Rio Verde Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green women's golf continues Spring play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Western Michigan's Rio Verde Invitational, which will be contested at the Rio Verde Country Club's Quail Run Course. The par-72, 6,044-yard course is in Rio Verde, Ariz.
The three-day tournament will play 18 holes each day. Friday tee time is 1 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday will be 8 a.m. All three rounds are shot gun starts.
Rio Verde Invitational
• The Falcons will be one of 18 teams competing at the Rio Verde Invitational. In addition to Bowling Green, MAC teams taking part in the tournament are Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio and host Western Michigan. The rest of the field includes Bradley, Butler, Cal Baptist, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Loyola (Ill.), Missouri State, Oakland, South Dakota, Wichita State and Xavier.

- Bowling Green is playing in the Rio Verde Invitational for the 12th time and has played in all but one Rio Verde Invitational since the tournament started in 2010.
- BGSU did not appear in the 2012 tournament.
- The Falcons placed No. 17 in the tournament last year.
- MacKenzie Moore was BGSU's top performer at the event last year, finishing No. 30 (79-76-74-229)
