Allendale Awaits as Falcons Go to GVSU for Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons continue the 2023 indoor season with a trip north, competing at the GVSU Big Meet on Feb. 10-11. Allendale is familiar territory for the Orange and Brown, with this year's meet marking the 13th time the Falcons have had at least one competitor there in the last 10 indoor seasons. The meet will be held at the Kelly Family Sports Center on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
GVSU Big Meet Information
Hosted by Grand Valley State University, the GVSU Big Meet is split into separate meets on Friday and Saturday. The vast majority of Falcons will compete on Friday, with track events starting at 8:30 a.m. and field events beginning at 12 p.m. On Saturday, Bowling Green will compete in the Distance Medley Relay, which will start at approximately 12 p.m. A live stream of the meet is available through Flo Sports, found HERE. Subscription is required. Live results from the meet will be posted HERE. Tickets must be purchased for entry to the meet, they can be bought online HERE.

Bowling Green's Previous Weekend
The Falcons competed at the 19th Annual Akron Invitational, a two-day competition that featured more outstanding performances from the Orange and Brown. On Friday, the Falcon pentathlete group took three of the top five spots, with Jenna Lucas placing third, Katherine Mendenhall finishing fourth, and Destiny Fernandes earning fifth. Lucas and Mendenhall had a PR in the shot put, with Lucas adding another PR in the long jump. Fernandes PR'd in the high jump, her second consecutive weekend with a personal record. Lucas scored 3,458 in the pentathlon, the 10th-best number in school history. Only four athletes have tallied a better score.
On Saturday, more Falcons notched PRs and etched their name in the record book. Brianna Richard won the triple jump with a mark that ranks seventh in program history, with only one former athlete recording a better mark. Zaresha Neal attained a shot put mark that ranks 14th in program history, as well as first in the MAC and 24th in the NCAA this season. Morgan Patterson won the 60 hurdles with the 11th-fastest time in school history, with only four athletes logging faster times. Jemeila Hunter also recorded a time that ranks 11th in program history, winning the 200 in 24.83. Darian Braddix, Tianna Mulligan, and Ashley Kisor each had a PR in the 400.
