
Falcons Edged in Regular Season Finale at Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. – It went down to the final rotation, but the Bowling Green Falcons were unable to overcome their deficit to Eastern Michigan, falling 195.800-195.250 in the final regular season meet of the season. The event was contested at EMU's George Gervin GameAbove Center.
Despite scoring team scores of 49.000+ on three events Bowling Green trailed the entire meet after falling twice in rotation one on the bars. BGSU bested EMU on vault and beam, while narrowly finishing behind the Eagles on floor (49.025-49.000). EMU excelled on bars (49.100), proving to be the difference with the two BGSU falls and the Falcons finishing the event 0.900 points behind EMU.
Katrina Mendez Abolnik shined for BGSU in her two events, tying her PR on vault with a 9.900. The vault score also tied for No. 7 all-time in program history in the event. Mendez Abolnik also notched a PR on floor with a 9.850. She finished tops in the meet on vault and second on floor.
