Zaresha Neal Earns Third Consecutive MAC Field Athlete of the Week Honor

Senior thrower earns fourth outdoor award of season, seventh honor of 2023 campaign
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has announced two student-athletes as its Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, with Bowling Green's Zaresha Neal earning MAC Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this outdoor season. The senior placed first in the discus and second in the shot put at the We Fly Challenge, pacing a strong effort from the Falcons.
MAC Field Athlete of the Week: Zaresha Neal, Senior, Bowling Green
Zaresha Neal had another strong weekend for Bowling Green, winning the discus and placing second in the shot put at the We Fly Challenge. The senior started the meet with a first-place discus finish on Friday, throwing a mark of 166-5.00 (50.72m). The following day, she recorded a shot put mark of 52-2.00 (15.90m), placing second in the event. Both marks rank in the program's top 25 and Neal maintains her spot at No. 1 in the MAC in both events. She also ranks in the top 20 of the East Regional qualifying list.
This is the fourth time in as many chances Neal has been honored during the 2023 outdoor season. She has earned recognition seven times during the 2023 season, the most in the MAC. In her career, she has nine MAC Field Athlete of the Week honors, with five of them coming during the outdoor season.
