BGSU Opens Outdoors with Slew of Personal Records in Oxford

OXFORD, Ohio – Bowling Green opened the outdoor season Friday at the Miami Blizzard Buster with a strong showing, highlighted by 10 personal records across four events.
On the track, the Falcons competed in the men's 3000, where Micah Bentley led the way with a sixth-place finish and a personal-best time of 8:44.39. Owen Zaumeyer followed in ninth at 8:53.09, while Wyatt Ulbricht clocked another personal best at 8:59.35. Luke Woolard added a career-best 9:06.06, and Isaak Rubley rounded out the group with a 9:32.00 effort.
In the field events, Bowling Green opened with a strong performance in the hammer throw, where every Falcon recorded a personal best. Grace Bradtmueller led the group with a sixth-place mark of 46.47m, followed by Karma Williams in eighth at 45.17m. Sierra Podolan reached 38.00m, while Sydney Williams closed at 37.72m on her final attempt.
Bowling Green continued its momentum in the shot put, where Sierra Brinson placed fourth with a throw of 13.16m. Lily Tomasheski finished sixth at 12.47m, and Podolan added a top-10 finish with a mark of 12.07m.
The Falcons turned in one of their strongest performances of the day in the discus, placing fourth, fifth and sixth while three athletes surpassed the 40m mark. Freshman Natalie Vrancken led the group with a personal-best throw of 42.57m, narrowly ahead of Podolan's 42.48m PR. Brinson followed at 41.52m. Bradtmueller (38.26m) and Emma Hoffman (38.04m) added 10th and 11th-place finishes, respectively.
To close the field events, Tomasheski recorded a personal-best 36.98m in the javelin to place fourth. That mark is ninth-best in program history. Elizabeth Wilson added another PR with a throw of 33.87m.
Bowling Green returns to action next week, traveling to Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State, from March 26-28.
