Kayla Davis Named to the 2022-23 All-MAC Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the All-MAC women's golf award recipients for the 2022-23 season on Friday (April 28). Of those named, Bowling Green's Kayla Davis was named second-team All-MAC.
Davis (Sr., Gahanna, Ohio) is the eighth Falcon all-time to be named second-team All-MAC for the second year in a row. Davis, along with Shelley Binzell and Jenny Schnipke, hold all eight All-MAC honors by Falcons. Binzell and Schnipke each were named to the second three times each. Bizell in 2000, 2002 and 2003 and Schnipke in 2001, 2002 and 2004.
Davis paced the Falcons throughout the season, breaking the single-season scoring average mark (75.4) that was held by current head coach Erin Fahey (75.48) that was set during the 2017-18 season.
Davis capped off one of the finest seasons in BGSU golf history by tying for second among individuals at the 2023 MAC Championship, and winning the MAC's Sportswoman of the Year, as voted on by all the competitors at the Championship. Davis shot a 219 en route to posting the best finish by a Falcon at the MAC Championships since 2015.
Additionally, Davis (broke her own BGSU record for lowest score in a MAC Championship. In all competitions, her 219 is the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history. She led the tournament with 11 birdies. Davis broke the BGSU single-season record with a 75.4 scoring average per round.
