Falcon Legend Lauren Prochaska to be Inducted into Ohio Basketball H-O-F Later This Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio (BGSU Athletics) – Bowling Green State University women's basketball legend Lauren Prochaska will enter the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame later this month..
Prochaska is part of a class of 12 outstanding athletes, coaches, and contributors, along with a state championship team, who will enter the hall of April 20. The Class of 2024 was announced in late August of 2023.
Prochaska, a native of Plain City, Ohio (Jonathan Alder), set the BGSU career scoring record, with 2,290 points for the women's basketball Falcons. The MAC Freshman of the Year in 2007-08, she was named to the All-MAC Second Team that season before earning All-MAC First-Team honors in each of the last three years.
Prochaska was twice named the MAC Player of the Year, and also was named the MAC Tournament MVP on two occasions as well.
In addition to scoring, she finished her career as the BGSU leader in free throws made and attempts, free-throw percentage (90.6%), three-point field goals made (310), games started and consecutive games started. She ended her career ranked second in MAC history in three-pointers made and third on the conference career scoring list.
Prochaska was named to the All-Anderson Team while she was still a student-athlete at BGSU. Prochaska led the nation in free-throw pct. (93.3%) as a sophomore, and set an NCAA record by sinking 70 consecutive free throws during her senior season.
During her four years at BGSU, she helped the Falcons to an overall record of 110-25, including a 55-9 MAC ledger. BGSU won four MAC East Division titles (with the MAC's best overall record in three of those years) and two league tournament titles, with two NCAA Tournament and two WNIT appearances in that time.
She was inducted into the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.
Prochaska is joined in the 2024 class by Sylvia Crawley, Don DeVoe, Craig Ehlo, Jack Greynolds, Tyrone Hill, Dan Hughes, Thurman Leggs Jr., Kirk Martin, Mel Nowell, Bev Obringer, Bob Von Kaenel and the 1976 Barberton High School boys basketball state championship team.
Additionally, Prochaska joins other legendary BGSU basketball figures in the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, including Harold Anderson, Jeanne Arnzen Gulick, Al Bianchi, Antonio Daniels, Jimmy Darrow, Bill Fitch, Howard "Butch" Komives, Keith McLeod, Jackie Motycka Mossing, Don Otten, Mac Otten, Charles Share, Nate Thurmond and Fran Voll.
"We're excited to celebrate another class of tremendous athletes, coaches and contributors in 2024," said Executive Director Sheila Fox. "Ohio has a wealth of talented men and women who've impacted the game. We exist to tell their stories and honor their accomplishments."
The 2024 Class, as mentioned, will be enshrined April 20 in Columbus. The ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. at the Hilton Polaris, 8700 Lyra Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43240.
