January 22, 2024 | Women's Basketball
BGSU battles the Trojans on Sat., Feb. 10, at the Stroh
The Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference offices have announced the February slate of games for this season's MAC-SBC Challenge. The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team will host Troy University on Saturday, Feb. 10, with tipoff at 2:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball that began in November of 2023. The second leg of matchups this season were scheduled based on real-time NET rankings, projected season finish and previous cross-conference contests.
Each MAC and Sun Belt team included in the MAC-SBC Challenge, currently scheduled to take place during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns, is guaranteed one home and one away game each season.
The game will mark the first-ever meeting between BGSU and Troy. The Falcons will enter that contest with an overall record of 14-5 against current members of the Sun Belt Conference. A total of 15 of the 19 previous games have come against Marshall, a former MAC member.
BGSU is 10-6 overall this season, and the Falcons have a record of 4-2 in MAC play entering a Wednesday (Jan. 24) game at Buffalo.
Troy has a 9-8 overall record, including a 6-1 mark in SBC action to date. The Trojans have won six consecutive games heading into a Thursday (Jan. 25) game vs. Southern Miss.
