Cubbison Leads The Charge For BGSU At Paul Short Run
October 05, 2024 | Women's Cross Country
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The journey to Bethlehem, Pa. proved to yield good results for the BGSU women's cross country team, as three runners placed in the top 60 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh to power the Falcons to a 16th place finish at one of the most competitive races in the country.
In a Gold race field consisting of 42 teams and about 400 runners, Kylee Cubbison shined as she finished in 24th with a PR time of 20:40.9. It marks back-to-back races where the junior has broken 21 minutes, as she accomplished the feat at Western Michigan's George Dales Invitational in September.
Making her collegiate debut, freshman Lexi Panning raced to a 50th-place finish with a mark of 21:01.7. Regina Rose wasn't too far behind, as she paced a mark of 21:03.7 to end in 59th.
Rachael Withrow (163rd, 21:54.2), Emma Hellwege (212th, 22:13.2), Amelia Barilla (227th, 22:18.4), Rachael Hoover (235th, 22:25.1) and Madison Foster (246th, 22:30.8) rounded out the competitors for the Falcons.
In the Open race of just over 500 runners, freshman Nora Ritting placed in the top half with a mark of 24:01.1. Clare Valenza, a sophomore who competed in her first-ever collegiate race, posted a 26:21.4 mark.
Up next, BGSU will host the Falcon Invitational at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course on Friday, October 18 to conclude the regular season.
