Women’s Golf Returns to the Grand Canyon State for the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's golf team returns to the Grand Canyon State this weekend for the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, which is hosted by Western Michigan. The three-day event will take place on the Quail Run Golf Course at the Rio Verde Country Club, a par-72, 6,044-yard course in Rio Verde, Ariz.
Each day will feature one 18-hole round. Friday a shotgun start will start at noon. On Saturday, the shotgun start will be at 10 a.m. and on Sunday the shotgun start is slated for 8:30 a.m. All start times are based on local time in Arizona.
WMU's Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational
The Falcons will be one of 20 teams competing at Western Michigan's Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The field includes Akron, Ball State, Bradley, Butler, Cal Baptist, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Evansville, Illinois State, Kennesaw State, Loyola (Chicago), Missouri State, Oakland, Ohio, South Dakota, Utah Tech, Wichita State, Western Michigan and Xavier.

• BGSU is playing in the Rio Verde Invitational for the 13th time and has played in all but one Rio Verde Invitational since the tournament started in 2010.

• BGSU placed No. 11 out of 18 teams at last year's Rio Verde Invitational.
• Kayla Davis led BGSU and finished No. 12 at +8 (224).

Format: 54-hole stroke play – 18 holes on Friday, 18 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
Tee Times: 12 p.m. shotgun on Friday (Ariz. Time), 10 a.m. shotgun on Saturday (Ariz. Time) and 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday (Ariz. Time).
